Sign of Trouble with New Galaxy A32?

I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy A32 sent to me for free by Sprint/T-Mobile (since my old phone was 3G and was therefore about to become useless due to their upgrade to 5G), which is my first Samsung (I had had Motorolas until now). Something happened last night which concerns me a bit, though, so I just want to see if the phone might be defective, in which case I figure I better deal with it ASAP.

Basically, I took the phone out of my pocket to open the camera, and neither the double-tap on the power button nor my finger print did anything. I finally swiped up and entered my pattern to unlock the phone, but I got a brief message that I think said "Android starting." But, again, it's not like I powered off the phone or anything -- it was just supposed to be in locked status. So I figure that Android should have already been running and not needing to be powered up.

Does anyone here know why this might have happened and if it's anything to be concerned about? Thank you.

It's possible that there was a security patch or a Google Play system update that may have installed automatically. What month for either of those is the phone on?

Also, do you have the Auto Restart feature turned on?

Hmm, especially as a new user, I'm not sure what all of these settings are, but I did find the Automation page within Settings, and while "auto restart at set times" is off, "auto optimize daily" is on. Am not sure if this is similar to what you are referring to and if this could cause that behavior.

As for the other possibilities, how can I tell what month? Thank you.

Yeah those settings are in device care , auto optimize doesn't restart the phone , sometimes if you leave the phone for couple hours it will ask for password/pin and won't let u use fingerprint sensor

As you can see here Android security feature from time to time or 72 hours Screenshot_20220404-182338_Settings.jpg

Go to Settings>Biometrics & Security and show us a screenshot.
