Signal issues

Ok I was talking on my phone today when a horrible screeching noise went off in my earpiece. My call dropped and the phone rebooted. When it came back on, I could not connect to Verizon wireless and called them from another phone and a master reset would not work so they did a hard reset and still could not reactivate the phone. Took it to the store and they replaced the sim card but could not get phone to activate, they could not get it to do another hard reset and told me to wait for the replacement gs3. Well I left the store turned the phone back on and got a signal to finally activate it but now even though I'm able to make calls, I can't receive them. This has never happened to me on any phone and now this will be my 2nd replacement.
