Signal Strength Indicator

I notice some new owners are saying the reception of the N5 is not as good as other phones but I've observed something that I thought I'd share. With my HTC one, my web browsing experience was wholly dependent on the LTE signal strength. If I had full bars, it was fine. With one or two, web pages took forever to load and I often just gave up. I could never get a text message to upload and it was a royal pain having to wave my HTC in the air hopping the text catches a wave so to speak. With the N5, it seems to me that even though the signal strength indicator says one or two bars, web pages and text messages happen just as fast. Is it possible the signal displayed is just conservative compared to my HTC?

I also noticed this too. I was at bestbuy this morning checking out the moto X. Did a test on both on my Nexus (LTE with 1 bar) and Moto X (bb wireless) launch a page on chrome and I was surprise that Nexus open the page faster. I guess the Snapdragon does help in this department.

The Nexus 5 shows you the Cell Tower Signal Strength... Setting > About Phone > Status

Inside my house at the worst spot I get -110 dBn 29 asu and outside it gets -97 dBn

Phone quality on voice is very good to my ear even inside.

I am getting MUCH worse signal with my N5, i will past what i put in an earlier thread

"I've been using my phone for the last 2 days and have noticed that signal as a whole is not very good compared to my other phones . on this phone I have no signal in half my office building , and when I do is choppy . my data is searching most of the time . my coworker also just got this phone and is having the same issues . I put my Sim back in my HTC one and perfect signal again . unfortunately this is a major issue for me in my line of work because one missed call could mean money missed . has anyone seen Google addressing this ?"
