Significant increase in mobile data usage since upgrading to Moto E20

Hi, all.

I'm a fairly experienced Motorola smartphone user, but I've noticed something odd about my most recent phone. I upgraded from a Moto C Plus on the 23rd of March.

I'm in the UK, and with the Tesco Mobile network. Before this phone, I'd only gone into my safety buffer once. That was due to a text to a mental health support service, for which I was assured I wouldn't be charged.

Last week, I received a text saying I'd used all of my data. I get 250MB of extra data as part of a Family Plan, and I hadn't touched that extra 250MB. Yesterday, I got another text saying I'd used all of my data. With my previous phones, I was able to leave mobile data switched on, and not have it being used.

I've turned my mobile data off now until the 23rd when my allowance resets. I was just wondering whether anyone else had noticed similar with this phone.

Many thanks,

Casey

Have you looked at app data usage to determine what is using all of your data? That would be my first step. Then go through your apps and change permissions like use background data, always allow location, etc. Another thing that will help is if you turn off auto sync. To get your emails just open your email and refresh page to sync manually. Otherwise it's constantly checking and downloading. Do some googling, there are a lot of things you can do to help your situation. Also 250mb really isn't very much to work with anyways. I hope you don't watch YouTube on that lol
