Silent Mode while Locked

Hi. Is there a way to enable Silent Mode when the Mate 10 Pro is locked? I have asked their support agents through the live chat and scoured the manual to no avail. The agents say there is no way to do it.

No you can't enable silent mode when the phone is locked.
