Spouse has an HTC Eris (used to be mine) that is set on the Silent profile but the ring volume is still all the way up and the phone rings when someone calls instead of going to voicemail. Why is the Silent profile not silent and how can he make it be silent? Is there a way to tell the phone what you want to happen when it's in silent (or normal, or vibrate) mode?
He can turn the volume down using the volume key (which switches the profile automatically to Silent) but he'd like to know how to use the Silent mode to actually make the phone and its ring volume silent.
I don't recall having this issue when I had the phone. I also thought I could tailor the modes but I can't figure out how now.
