Sim card size

I currently have a Galaxy S5, and I believe it has a micro SIM card. I "upgraded" through Verizon to an iPhone 6S, which I'm currently selling on eBay before buying my 6P. The iPhone came with a nano SIM card.

I looked up that the 6P supports NanoSIM. Does anyone know if I'll be able to use the card that came with the iPhone?

I'm not on Verizon but I am pretty sure you can use an already activated SIM in your 6P.

Yes... (It should!) I've read that using an iPhone 6 (or any nano sim 4g phone) was a work around for those who didn't have a nano sim and were trying to activate the sim for the 1st time (VZW wasn't recognizing the Nexus 6p at release time, but they have since been "white listed")

From my experiences with verizon, if you already have an activated sim card, swapping it among 4g devices isn't a problem. The only issue would be sim size (micro/nano). I am currently using a Galaxy S5 with my own cut down micro from my 1st 4g phone (Thunderbolt). I ordered a nano simm from vzw online chat since my I don't think my sim card will survive another cutting. The sim they are sending me is a GEMALTO 4FF NFC SIM CD, (aka nano NFC sim)

I'm kind of ignorant to all of this SIM talk. Just to be clear, the NanoSIM that came in the iPhone has never been "activated." When I got the iPhone, I opened it, pulled out the SIM, put it in a drawer, took pics of the phone, and listed it on eBay. Will that SIM need to be activated with the iPhone first or is it already activated by them sending it to me?

Sorry if this is making no sense.

If the SIM came from Verizon, it may be pre-activated.

If you pop it in the 6P and it doesn't work, go to a VZW store and they'll activate it for you.

I kind of went through the same thing with the Nexus 6. However, the nano sim I received was not activated. I was using a cut down micro sim so my N6 still worked but it wasn't until VZW officially recognized non-VZW N6's (bought mine directly from Moto) that they finally activated my nano sim.

Just a word of advice, I would at least see if your nano sim is already activated by either going to the website or just activating it in your iPhone 6s. That way you know it's activated and then it will work in the 6P.

How can I tell if my NanoSIM is activated in the iPhone? I put it in there and tried to go through the set-up process and got stuck on Apple IDs or pulling information from my Android. Since I don't want to do any of that because I'm selling it, I can't get any further. This is just proving to me why I don't want an iPhone.

Now when I turn the iPhone on with the NanoSIM in it, it shows Verizon 3G in the status bar with 4/5 dots filled in so I guess that's good. Sounds activated to me? Not sure how it's doing that and my Galaxy is still connected fine to the VZW network as well though.

Also, I need to figure out how to get my passcode off this iPhone.

I'm also not sure how your Galaxy is still connecting but if your iPhone with the nano sim is showing Verizon 3g then your nano sim is activated.
