Does the Maxx have a micro or nano Sam and would it be compatible with the Note 4?

According to the Droid Maxx's specs, it uses a nano SIM card, while the Note 4 uses micro SIM cards. They are not compatible with each other. You could, in theory, get an adapter to 'enlarge' the nano SIM into a micro SIM or cut the micro SIM into a nano SIM size, but most of the times you can get a free replacement at your carrier's stores.

The Droid uses a nanaSIM, the Note 4 uses a microSIM, so you could use an adapter to put the Maxx' card into a Note 4 (a set of 3, so any card can fit any phone that takes any larger card, is about $1.50 on eBay). But if you're changing permanently, just ask the carrier for a card for the Note 4.
