Hey guys. I'm new here and I finally have a smartphone (yes).

So, on to the question.

- How can I set-up pictures and other links (Facebook ID, email, IM, etc) for SIM contacts? Apparently, it can't be done. Only Device contacts can be edited to have those.
- If it really can't be done, how do I change the SIM contacts to Device contact?
- If that also can't be done, is there any way around this, because recreating all of those contacts would be really time-consuming (not to mention, boring), and I still haven't gotten use to touchscreen keyboard and the big screen size.

Go to Play store and search 'sim contacts to phone'. There were a few apps there that sound like they can copy from sim to phone. I haven't tried any of them but it may be worth a shot. I highly recommend getting all your contacts to your email account. Then, it is just a matter of setting up account on phone and syncing contacts in the future. Good luck.

Thank you very much. Unfortunately, I've deleted all of my contacts and apparently, so does the one in the sim.. This information would be useful for my friend later on.

Thanks. I'll be saving my contacts on cloud.

If your contacts are already in the SIM card, all you have to do is open the contacts, to go the contacts settings and import them from the SIM card and they will be saved on the device. Once on the device you can assign the pictures you want for your contacts. No need to recreate your contacts nor get any additional app from the play store when you already have that capability on the phone.
