SIM Unlock?

Has anyone managed to get this phone SIM unlocked?

I travel often to Mexico and Canada and would love the convenience of just popping in a local prepaid SIM card rather than pay roaming fees to Sprint.

according to sprint, it is not locked. all you have to do is pop it in . i have not tried it yet, so have no actual data.

surprise, sprint lied to me. tried to install sim in chile & the phone IS locked. several people in sprint had told me it was unlocked for foreign use. here we go.

Not sure if this counts, but..

My sister-in-law is here from canada with her canadian phone. I took her sim and stuck it in my design and could not connect to a gsm network.

Do any of you experts out there know what is needed to unlock the sim on this phone?
