SIM Unlock

So I have a two year old LG phone that requires the SIM unlock app. Problem is the line where the phone belonged to is now long canceled. If I try to unlock it using any other line it tells me that the phone is not eligible to be unlocked. Customer service has not been helpful whatsoever, any ideas that might work?

Just to be clear -- this phone was originally on T-Mobile? Or was it on a different carrier, and you're trying to SIM unlock it so that it works on T-Mobile?

TMO does have some idiotic unlocking policies for sure, but was this phone fully paid off before the line was canceled? Was the account associated with the line paid off?

If you have Facebook or Twitter, try contacting "T-Force" (I think they're @ tmobilehelp on Twitter, no space.) It seems like an unfortunate (for the customer) but convenient (for TMO) arrangement nowadays that to get good customer service one has to go this route.
