Simulcast from Note 4 to Samsung TV? YouTube QHD video links!

So I have recently started using a Phantom 3 quad copter with my Note 4. I would like to put on my big screen Samsung TV in my living room the FPV from the Note 4. Not done anything like that before, can someone help me with this?

Here is a little treat of what I am doing, it is awesome! I shot the video in 1080P, will probably have to shoot some in QHD simply for the Note 4 views!

If you want to do it in real time, you'll need a video transmitter on the copter and a video receiver on the ground (and probably a ham license for anything but really short (10-20 feet] flights). (Or, looking at the specs, maybe not - but I'm not about to drop $1,200 to find out.)

If you just want to show the video on the TV screen, A Samsung phone can mirror to a Samsung TV. Settings/Connections/Screen Mirroring.

No the DJI Phantom 3 records the video with it's own gimbled 4K camera on to a SD card. The note 4 runs the app that gives mapping and real-time 720P on the Note for tracking and navigation. It is always best to have it in Line Of Sight at all times though.

I added an edit when you were writing that post.

And I agree - with any remote vehicle (except maybe military drones) - it's always good to have both the vehicle in sight at all times - and a beacon transmitter on the vehicle so you can track it if it gets lost, or a GPS signal on the video so you can find it.

I do have an FCC license but I don't know if it is required for this unit. This is good up to 1.2 miles. only had it out 100 meter so far.

This thing is awesome. It is going to be unreal to figure out how to operate this quad copter. The gimble attached to the camera makes a better and more stable platform than a tripod, I can't believe it. A tripod in the sky!

I dropped the 1200 Rukbat. Nice investment but demands a lot of figuring out for sure. Nice I live in such a great place to learn and practice. My main problem is a lake on one side of the house, no forgiveness there.

I don't regret a bit, it is as steady a tripod as I can ask for, amazing camera platform!

Hey Chuck, do you know what the reported battery life is on that? because after looking at your videos I think I am in love and I will buy one! I also plan to add Solar Panels to the top to allow for charging while flying.

It does 20 minutes, give or take a few. 4480mAh in 20 minutes is a hefty drain, solar could give you a couple more minutes. What you need is that idea Nikola Tesla had with the tower moving power through the air and all.

A nice stack of batteries is probably the best solution.

The unit is absolutely the coolest and most versatile camera platform made. One word--AWESOME!

Can you elaborate on the Screen Mirroring I have a UN32C5000 and a LN32D405E5D on my desktop and a UN55FH6030 in the living room. Simulcast does not seem to show up on any of their menus, do I need a real Samsung WIFI USB stick or something?

So I ordered a HDMI AllSharecast dongle, little pricey at 75 bucks but wth. Hoping I can minimize the lag time between the Note 4 and the big screen.
