Siri ANdroid App

Anybody have an Android app that actually compares to Siri on iphone?

You can try Vlingo, Assistant, Iris, Voice Actions, there's quite a few of them. I've tried all of these and the Assistant one is the best but it runs when you tell it not to and it uses battery. Vlingo is kind of cool.

I play around with Speaktoit myself. I like it alot due to its highly customizable features. Personally much better than vlingo and iris ans etc.

Virtual assistants have been around since forever. Apple didn't invent the idea, nor did they invent SIRI. Google SIRI and you'll come across the top 10 developer iPhone apps... from 2010. All apple did was buy the app from the dev, remove it from Appstore, preload it in their 4s, and imply through ads that they made a innovative app. There is no innovation in closed source systems. Just "buyouts".

Speaktoit is the closest thing to Siri. It's also been out longer that Siri, just for an FYI.

I started using speaktoit today and really like it. Voice recognition is spot on. Haven't figured out how to add to my calendar yet, but will. It's very customizable too. Nice. Thanks for the headsup.

I saw this thread and decided to download it and use it. I will say, it's fun just like it is on the iphone but when it comes down to it, it's more of show then usage.
I would say the same with siri, it's more for show then usage.

That is just my opinion. I'd rather type in the stuff myself instead of having a voice search and having it come out wrong.

I only use it if driving. I just don't see myself verbally, in front of other people, asking Maxx questions. I did go into the garage to test him out and ask him a few questions so nobody in the house would hear me.
I did change his name to Maxx just cause you can and it seemed fitting. lol
I did ask him to send some text messages while driving yesterday and it went great. Very good app.

Does it learn the way Siri is supposed to? I find that mine often gives me answers indicating that either she doesn't know or that she will "look into it" which she never does. Can't get good help these days.

I just have had it a few days and not really used it much except for SMS, so I dunno.

Confession: The teenage boy came out in me and when nobody was listening, I ask Maxx an off-color question to see what his answer would be.
And, I was sorta surprised when he replied 'would you talk to your mother with that mouth'.

Maxx apparently has built in values that I should aspire to being more like.

Speaktoit rocks. I love swearing at her and have her call me a potty mouth and ask me why I am talking to her in that manner. Lololol.
