Size matter?

Ok, so before someone says the obvious, yes I have played with a 7 inch tabs in stores. I do like the form factor. I'm wondering how anyone feels after making the switch from a 10.1 screen to a 7? I use my tab for reading and taking notes. Mostly when conferring with students. I find the 10.1 cumbersome to type on, but I like the real estate for reading websites. Any opinions or thoughts from people who have both or made the switch already?

I like the 7" size, as it seems to be a happy medium. It's easy to hold with one hand and read. Its comfortable in landscape mode and much more comfortable for playing games. It's easy to carry and to toss into my purse or a pack. I don't watch movies much but it's a nice personal size for viewing. My other device is a HP touchpad and it feels large and heavy in comparison.

Same reply as on Xda..

I own an iPad 2 and a Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 is far better, even if there is less screen real estate. It is so much more portable, easier to hold, and lighter. It is the perfect size for making quick notes, surfing the web, playing games, and reading ebooks.

I love the back of the Nexus 7. It is smooth yet grippy, and it never gets hot and cold like iPads.

Yes, the size does matter. one reason for Nexus 7's success is its 7 inch form factor.

I have a 9.7 inch tablet i feel like its bulky. i am sure i will buy only Nexus and my options are limited.

but a 7 inch is still is better than Nexus 10 interms of portability.

Tablets are in their element when they're 7 inches. For a mobile device that does it all, its perfect.

I think the larger ones do have their place - like maybe in business where you're looking at diagrams or high res pics or something... beyond that, I just don't see the point.

+1

7" is good for personal use. 10" + would be great for business since it is much easier to show another person information on it, such as at a doctors office.

Thank you all. I think I may get the 7 and sell my thrive 10.1. I don't like the idea of selling it for less than half what I payed, but I can only keep one device and something is better than nothing.

Can't wait!

Sadly, just something you have to get used to. I sell all my old devices to go towards the new one. Rather get some money back than having it sit around collecting dust. (Except for my HP touchpad, just can't seem to want to sell it).

I really loved my 10.1 and thought long and hard about getting the nexus 7 do to the smaller size. However I realized quickly how much I preferred the 7 over the 10.1 so much that its all I use now. I feel kind of bad seeing a new transformer sitting here not being used since getting the 7...
