Skype consuming 48% of the battery even if it has been force stopped??

Guys,

Skype is draining my battery.it is consuming 48% of my battery power, this is despite I have force stopped it.

Anybody else seeing this? What can be done to prevent skype from consuming so much power even in stopped mode?

Suggestions with details would be appreciated.
