Skype Issues ?

Hey all, thanks for taking a second to read. I've been having issues with skype that I just can't seem to turn any answers up on, I'm getting a bit frustrated and hoped someone here may have had (or is having) the same issues.

I'm using an LG Optimus V (old one non-S parts). I'm running Harmonia 2.5 atm.

Before I rooted skype speakerphone worked fine, but post-root, setting it between earpiece and speakerphone has no change (though it makes a blip sound as if it was trying to go to speakerphone).

I also could plug in headphones and hear the other person, while still using the internal mic. Now (post-root/harmonia) plugging in those same headphones makes it think it's a 'Headset', I can hear them but they can't hear me (because it's not using the internal mic anymore). Very odd stuff.

I've noticed I have 'DSP Manager' as my audio manager and I see nothing in it's options/settings to have caused this. I don't think it's harmonia or dsp as others would have complained, I'm just confused now =|

Another question I have is bluetooth. Has anyone successfully used bluetooth on the Optimus V with skype. It gives me the bluetooth Icon, and when I press the Voice-Dial button on the bluetooth for two seconds I can hear the other person talking, but it goes back to earpiece (even when bluetooth is selected, etc). I'm guessing maybe that just can't happen?.

If anyone else is having, or has had these issues, could you please let me know what road/path you took to get these features working again (at least speakerphone!!)

Thank you in advance for any help/assistance, and thanks again for the read!.

Edit/Update: I've upgraded to Harmonia 2.6 and still these issues persist. My friend still has his Optimus V unrooted and we verified that it does not do this on stock firmware (in regards to the speakerphone/headphone thing).

Any thoughts as to why these are fine on Stock but not Harmonia. Is it the DSP manager do you guys think? any thoughts are welcome!.

I believe it's an old issue that's been in IHO forever. I've seen it mentioned in the IHO thread many times. Not Skype specific, it's about headphones and mic.

Edit: I just reread your post, and it's speakerphone you have problems with (not headphones). Don't know about that, sorry.

Thank you for the response, their is a symptom with headphone as well (it believes it's a headset not headphones and tries to use a non-existant mic at that point). But yeah speakerphone is really the main issue it seems =|

If you look for headphones in the IHO thread, some of it may apply. Basically, though, it's an old problem that has yet to be solved.

I'm running Harmonia 1.7 (Froyo) with my Optimus V and Skype works perfectly (including switching between speakerphone and earpiece). But I have discovered you must run an OLDER version of Skype in order for these functions to behave properly. I run version 1.0.0.983 released on April 20, 2011.

Could anyone possibly point me in the proper direction for a legit apk of this (Skype version v1.0.0.983). I've checked quite a lot of websites, one which mentions a MD5 Checksum for the 'proper' version, but everywhere I find it hosted has been shutdown/deleted, etc.

Found It, theirs only one left I could find online (that the checksum matched up), is it illegal to re-host this for others? if not I'll do so since it was so hard for me to find!

Update: After testing I will say this, That version is much much faster/better all-round than the newer skype. However, unfortunately, nothings changed (in termsof my issues). Thank you very much for the help (if nothing else at least now I have the 'faster' skype.

I sincerely hope something becomes known and/or there is a fix for such issues (very unfortunate) but still worth the cost of a custom Rom :P

Glad you found the apk somewhere in cyberspace, I was ready to offer you the aforementioned version in a PM (don't think it's illegal to share this app as it was publicly offered and posted by Skype last year). As I previously mentioned if you aren't wed to IMO ROM's, it works perfectly in Froyo custom ROM's such as LeslieAnn's Harmonia. Good luck!

Unfortunately I think I'll have to suck it up for now and deal with it as the benefits of v2 vs v1 harmonia seem better. It's a shame, but worth it in the end.

I'll move stuff to viber, as it's speakerphone seems to work flawlessly (no bluetooth still but it's ok).

Thank you very very much for the help, I may eventually cave and go to Harmonia v1! =P

I've tried both and actually ended up preferring Harmonia 1.x. Your choice of course but for me Skype working correctly through both handset and speakerphone was a must...you can easily make a nandroid backup of your present setup and give it a try...best of luck!

I've just moved to Harmonia1 and you're absolutely right, skype works flawlessly this way. I'm sure there are topics for this I'll ask here since it's kinda on topic.

Now that I've gone to Harmonia1, I have a few question.

1) Is there any way to get the statusbar of Harmonia2 back ? (more importantly the power-control toggles on the top of the statusbar

2) The 'Screenshot' button is gone on (power hold)

3) Is there an easy way to use the Gingerbread Keyboard (liked that one very much)

4) aside from that, I surely miss all the Cyogen settings! (Especially the Hold back long enough to Kill Application, etc), anyway to get those back too!

Thank you very very much!.

1) I use Quick Settings app ...works just as well (IMHO) as status bar of IMO...link: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...tails?id=com.bwx.bequick&hl=en&token=KNZc9hgU

2) Try drocap2 (search Google Market)...turn OFF notifications in superuser...works perfectly...here's the link: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e....drocap2&feature=search_result&token=hEA11e7g..

3) Try this: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...d.inputmethod.latin.free&hl=en&token=TlMhLqCv

4) Don't think so since those settings are baked into the CyanogenMod ROM and their offsprings

Good Day Mate!
