Skype on Nexus

Downloaded Skype. Trying to make video call, but microphone icon had slash through it. Don't know how to activate the audio. Any hints?

I "liked" your post because its SO true. The speaker BLOWS ... How a phone that is in development for so long and has aspirations of being a multimedia device and a corporate type device can be released like this is unfathomable. The speaker is USELESS people!!! I can't even hear text messages or the phone ring if I have it sitting on my seat in the car with radio on low. Its THAT bad. GRRRRRR!

Hey. Well, I feel kind of stupid because my problem was all operator error. I'll do a total confession here.,In order to try it out, I was calling a landline. I don't have any Skype credits, so it wasn't letting me make the connection and my microphone had a slash through it. When I called an actual Skype number, it worked just fine. Sorry to be such a nimbus. The only issue I had was the now well-known speaker volume insufficiency. I have downloaded Volume+ and I'm eager to see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the helpful suggestions. I'll try not to set off the fire alarm in the future unless there's a real fire.
