Skyraider Questions

Recently began modding my gf's Dinc this weekend starting with rooting of course. I've read a bit about each Rom and Skyraider seems to be the best mix of performance and ease of use. Just a few things I wanted clarity on. :)

It is based off of Sense, right? How does it differ? Also, and this is a key point, does Skyraider improve battery life? Her battery dies rather quick(just recently found out she's had Autobrightness on, so that's been taken care of) so I'm trying to find a Rom that will help out.

Despite having googled "Incredible Skyraider" I wasn't able to find an official thread/site... if anyone can point me to one that would be appreciated. Comments on the rom are welcome as well.:D

I realize there may be better roms out there(were it my phone I'd go with Cyanogen), but I'd like her to keep Sense.

Skyraider Sense 3.5 is based on Sense. It has a lot of the bloat removed and a couple of cool features, like when you pull down the message bar, the last few apps you have used are right there at the top. Pretty slick. There are some other enhancements as well. As far as the battery life goes, ROM's by and large aren't going to make much of a difference. The kernel is where the magic happens... I suggest reading up on those. Oh, and do a google search for "xda"

Im running skyraider 3.5, have "setcpu" set up with multiple profiles, running juicedefender and using a authentic red htc evo 1500 battery and my battery life is excellent!!!. 10-16hrs with heavy usage.. think its mostly from the setcpu profiles, no bloatware, and the oem1500 evo battery..

Skyraider's Sense version is a highly customized ROM. It seems that what he's dropped as bloatware, he's replaced with various customizations. I'd have to say that his, along with Virtuous and Myn's are about the most stable ROMs that I've used.

Here's his thread over at XDA.

Evo battery works in Dinc? Interesting. I'll set her CPU profiles tonight most likely. Any kernels anyone suggests?

Here is the kernel I'm using.
Remember each phone is different and behave differently with kernels so you might need to try a few to find out which one works best for you.

I'm thinking I may put Hey Its Lou kernel on her phone. Seems to favor battery over performance. Unlike myself, Quadrant scores don't excite her. lol

Actually, scratch my last post. This kernel sounds really nice. GPU+ mmmm... DX GPU is good, but man I wish we could have that. lol

I'm using the SkyRaider 3.5, and so far like it a lot.

My phone has been uber fast and stable. No real difference observed with battery life using SetCPU, but I just switched to the HeyItsLou #4 Kernel (apparently #5 hasn't been all that stable), so we'll see how that changes.

For what it's worth, I use Launcher Pro.

Also, someone mentioned the drop-down notification bar shows recently used apps. That was for older versions. The newest version gives you a great customizable power control widget, six across, so you can toggle wifi/BT/sound profiles/etc. Very nice.

Yeah the evo battery fits, its a a hair bigger but the battery door does snap on all the way, though very tightly! ;)
