Sleeping vs Downtime?

Not sure how these two things work together. There is now am option in Moto Actions Sleeping too use Downtime. There isn't much by way of instructions when it comes to this. I'm sure it's not very complicated, but, I'm not completely sure how they with together. Out should I use them independently?
