Does anyone make a 2800 maH or higher battery for the Epic that is slim? I'd like a battery that can fit under the OEM back cover, but gives me more time away from a socket.

I assume that is impossible. If samsung could fit more mah in there, I bet they would've.

I would love to be wrong though.

I know it is possible, just expensive. I'd be willing to buy a $150 battery that keeps my phone thin and lasts me a full 14 hours of use during the day.

The best that is currently made is 1600 mah. Would be lucky to squeeze 1700 mah in stock case. Realy not possible. Otherwise all the company's would already be doing it s they wouldn't have so many complaints about battery life. I can get 16 hours of use with texts calls and light web browsing. I usualy go fcrom 7 am till midnight no problem. Around 10 to 20% left

Actually it is possible to make a thin high capacity battery. It just isn't practical at this time.

My neighbour works for Motorola and we had a long talk about this. Yes, you can make the battery, but in the end the cost is so high to the consumer, they wouldn't buy it. Somewhere between $150 and $250 for an extended battery is just too much. I'd gladly fork over $150 to get my Epic through two work days...maybe 3 without worrying about if I'm going to be near a charger.

At this time there is no chemical that can be used to offer that high of a capacity in a thin battery for a price a consumer would pay.

Thats why they are mostly lithium ion good quality at a low cost.
I have a 2800mAh extended battery and yes it adds weight and bulk to the phone. I really don't mind though at a cost of $19.99
