I just picked up my X2 and it's laggy and slow. Is it just getting broken in?

Simply put, the software isn't optimized for dual core. I don't expect big gains until Android 4.0 (Ice Cream).

Don't know how you can say it's laggy.. Mine is fast as hell. I've frozen all the junk on it and tweaked everything though.

And that's why I say it's slow. Because I'm talking about without freezing stuff

Indeed this phone is laggy, but will be able to preform once gingerbread comes. Most of the lag you are seeing is in User interface, which is graphically intensive, and even more so because the CPU needs to calculate 518,840 pixels. Don't forget that Froyo doesn't have gpu accelerated UI, and was built for phones with only 384,000 pixels needing calculation.

when gingerbread comes, UI will be handled by the gpu, allowing for much smoother performance,

No, but at least you can enjoy games like galaxy on fire and dungeon defenders. Yes the xperia play has them, but not the rendering quality that is THD. Point being, this thing is still the best there is on verizon.

For those next few days at least. The D3 is looking pretty sweet

Its motoblur without it, the phone would be fast.

Not true...I had an X and it blew the doors off my new X2 and I've never used the stock UI. I have full copy of Launcher Pro and It still sucks. I'm really unimpressed. Hoping the Gingerbread makes some kind of a difference.

Hello GB,,,,buh-bye laggy. On GB 2 days now and the DX2 is now everything it was supposed to be.

Agreed... Though I wish the update included a better way for multitasking and also a way to take a screenshot!

I haven't seen any other ways to multitask with stock android?
But there is a way to take screenshots I just don't know how to do it lmao

Lol well that's what I meant. I wanted ANY way to multitask. Im so used to multitasking on a WebOS device that I get frustrated sometimes, but ill take the gigantic improvement in hardware, apps and reliability over multitasking and synergy.

Ah webOS multitasking was/is beastly lol nothing can really compare to it. Maybe QNIX or whatever is running on blackberries playbook. But Palm built a very good multitasking OS lol if only they had more support(and better phones)
