Is it the phone or is this just Sprint's connection? I'm getting slow 3G data.

Ping: 645ms Down: 166kbps Up: 233kbps
Ping: 127ms Down: 177kbps Up: 325kbps
Ping: 144ms Down: 489kbps Up: 446kbps

I switched from Verizon to Sprint to pick up the 3D, but it seems the phone is worthless unless you're in WiMax or WiFi. Tests were taken at different times and different locations. I use SpeedTest.net's app. If anyone knows of a better test, let me know.

I updated PRL in between the first two tests.

It's the Sprint network, not your device. I'm usually a very happy Sprint customer but when I moved to Tucson a few weeks ago I'm more than disappointed with the 3G service. Normally I'd get 500-1000Kbps in most central Texas cities, but here it's usually less than 200Kbps and frequently below 100! About an hour to the Southeast in the town of Sierra Vista I tested their 3G at between 800 and 1200 Kbps on 3G. It seems to be related to network capacity because I see it pick up in Tucson in the late evening and early morning, but drops off and stays pretty slow all day long.

A call to Sprint had them update my PRL as well as my device profile. It didn't do anything to the (continuing disappointing and unacceptable) data speeds. BTW, I experienced this on both the Evo4G as well as the Evo3D.

It has to be the device....I'm in Houston, and my samsung epic 4g before this was noticeably quicker using 3g and 4g when driving around the city. I try to use slacker on my evo 3d now while driving, and its pretty much useless...takes like 3 minutes to skip and play the next song? WTF???!!!

Its the network. my data is just as ****ty on all my different phones in the same areas and goes up in speed in all the areas it should with all my phones.
I have complained to Sprint to the hilt and opening tickets like crazy. they hate me right now.

its sprint... Lately my internet has been slow as hell... Even with the Evo 4g... I think sprint didnt prepare the network for all of the users the two evo's have brought.

My Evo 4G acted exactly the same way as the Evo 3d does now. It has its good and bad days....hope they will get this under control sooner rather than later.

I am about to call Sprint as I an in roam alot these days - cant say if it started prior to the 3D or not but its close as I have never had this issue before - mainly see it become an issue say when loading FB or trying to download an app off the market since there is an unusually long delay now -

Try Speakeasy.net. Your speeds should just about double. There was a post in the Nexus S4g forum that stated that there is a glitch on newer phones with the Speedtest app. :)

I'm sure it varies based on where you're at. At my desk at work, I get about 600-800kbps. The important thing, and why I changed, is that AT&T got 20 and Verizon gets 50.

Got my MSL code and changed the ports just like for the 4G speed boost and they are still the same.... Pretty sure it's just Sprint taking a dump
