Is anyone having issues when receiving a call? It seems to take a full 3 seconds or more before my greeting is picked up by the caller. The caller tells me that the ring ends and there is just nothing. Eventually, they hear my speaking. I’ve had some end the call thinking there was a disconnection.

Try rerecording your greeting, but start speaking immediately after the tone, or whatever your carrier uses. It sounds as if you waited a few seconds before talking, so the caller hears that few seconds of silence.

If that doesn't fix it, then as modifier hinted, call your carrier. (It's their voicemail system, so they'd know if there's anything wrong with it.)

I'm using an MVNO called Ting. In using their GSM supplier T-Mobile.

I'm a little confused why the voicemail would have any effect. I'm answering the call live, not letting it go to VM.

Problem solved. I have a Huawei smartwatch. Evidently, it didn't want to let go of the call when trying to answer using the phone. Disabled the play phone thru watch option and call pick up is fine. So not a problem with my Essential phone after all.

Thanks for trying to help.
