Slowdown???

Hi guys,

I just wanted to see if anyone else has noticed some slowdown/lag with their unit.

I have a feeling that its going to be relating to the SD card...

I don't restart that often and i do close apps / clear the ram as often as possible (When i remember).

Its getting a little annoying. Main time is when I connect to my cars bluetooth system and then waze will automatically start. The phone hangs and doesn't respond for about 30 seconds and is just super slow...Pulling down the notification shade is also slow and it hangs....

Any ideas would be great.

Clear the cache partition and reboot your phone regularly. Uninstalled apps you don't use.

How exactly are you clearing RAM? Are you using a speed boost app? And clearing RAM is actually a cause for slowdown on Androids.

Not sure why you are closing apps and clearing RAM, but doing that tends to slow it down.

yes! i've been noticing the same thing. phone is just slow to transition between apps and such. and i have the animation time turned off in the developer options. still have the sd card issue, so it may be why.

You can set the phone to restart once a week (like while you're sleeping), which is good for it. (I think there's one phone carrier that took away that feature, if I remember correctly from another thread.) As others said, clearing the RAM and closing apps actually slows the phone down. There was an article about it that I recently read that explained why.

If you're using the Snapdragon version, it was seen in several tests to be quite inferior to the Exynos version in terms of multitasking. A video comparison by Phonebuff actually had it almost a full 40 seconds slower than the Exynos to do the same set of tasks, if I remember correctly.
