Slugginess after Marshmelow update

A few days after updating to M, my trusty 9er starts acting up. Very slow, very sluggish function as if the tablet has dropped and presents with a dysfunction. The funny bit is that this has manifested several days after the update, so I cannot directly attribute this behaviour to M. Otherwise battery life when the tablet is not in use has increased dramatically..
