sluggish performance.

I'm running a stock continuum, with launcher pro home. When I first got this phone it was pretty snappy, but now its getting sluggish on me. Messaging and phone Apps take 3-4seconds to load. I know that seems finicky, but I'm wondering if it is a symptom of a larger issue. I've noticed that I am running 260's of my 328 on ram. Is there anything stock I can do to drop some of that off? I'm running atk but even when I kill all my processes, it doesn't drop more than 10 MB. Any ideas? I've thought about resetting this thing, hut I'd rather not go through the hassle. Thanks.

Fixed

Figured out what was killing the performance on my phone. When it finally got to the point where google maps was taking 5 minutes to load, and the thing would totally freeze up, I got tired of being tolerant. At the risk of pissing off the developer, it was actually an app. Advanced task killer. Or, perhaps more to the point, the combo of atk and launcher pro. I deleted both of them, and did a battery pull. The phone still isn't quite as snappy as it was out of the box, and I'm still running 85% of my RAM, but it's pretty close, even with all the apps I have on there now. Not sure if this will help anyone else. But, there ya go.

FYI, I'm an amateur at android, but have been using Android Booster as my task killer. It seems to not be slowing my continuum down. Though I don't use launcher pro.

I've noticed that letting gmaps linger in the background seems to be a huge battery draw.

Curious, did you replace ATK with something else or are you going without a task killer?

I understand that android has some sort of built-in way of letting stuff run in the background, prioritizing processor usage, and will intelligently kill stuff when too many things are open. However, being a long-time micromanager of stopping windows from loading and running everything in the background...I'm rather paranoid about 'letting' the phone figure out what is ok to keep open.

F%#k task killers.they are pointless on anything above 2.1
Just root and use some type of auto memory manager.
Task killers actually can be detrimental to your phones processes.;)
