small slash circle on screen in upper left corner....?

Somehow in the upper left screen corner of my Samsung Galaxy there is a small circle with a slash through it and I can not drag down on the screen to see the various on/off options available. Have no idea how it got there, but would like to know how to get rid of it....?

I wonder, is the slash horizontal? It may be the icon for Blocking Mode. ...which lets you disable notifications for selected features based on time, etc.

Not horizontal... It is diagonal like one of the signs that indicate NO or DO NOT DO. A circle with a diagonal slash in it.
