When I am home I have smart actions set to turn off cellular data. I still get cals and texts. What does this turn off?

It disables the cellular data network. Everything functions as normal with the exception of MMS. You still get notified you got a message, but the picture doesn't download. That's the only difference...assuming you're wifi connection provides full internet access.

Turning off cellular data while on wifi will save your battery quite a bit.

How do you set a smart action to disable WiFi when you leave home...I don't want to set it by the prescribes hours they have listed.

Can I still get emails if the data is turned off?

As long as you turn on wifi yes it might not come as fast as it does with the data on but you will still be able to do everything you normally can do without as much battery drain
