Smart Bluetooth?

I saw on another thread that Note 10.1 has Bluetooth 4.0 and when I do a search on Google for Smart Bluetooth it says Bluetooth 4.0 is called Smart Bluetooth. So, when I tried to connect my new fitness tracker using Garmin Connect, it says "Your Garmin device uses Bluetooth Smart technology to sync data to mobile devices. Unfortunately, your Android device is not compatible." Any ideas? Thanks.

does the manual say that the android must run atleast android os 4.3?

i checked and note10.1 should have bluetooth le, so it must be the android os. you probably need to update the os,mif you dont run kitkat yet. depending on the model you have, there is a firmware available, or you need to flash it by yourself with the suitable firmware or you cant find any suitable firmware at all.
