Smart cover not working

Hai, smart cover not working even though i turn it on in the settings. Used a 3rd party app to check and see whether my proximity sensor is the source of the problem. And everything work fine. Is there some bug with my p10 smart cover settings.

Welcome to Android Central! Did you get the smartcover from Huawei, or is it a 3rd party case? Smartcovers typically work by using small embedded magnets in the cover to trigger a magnetic sensor in the bezel of the phone -- they don't usually rely on the proximity sensor. If the cover of the case has magnets that are too weak or misplaced (or if they don't have magnets in the first place), then it may not work correctly as a smartcover.

You can test the magnetic sensors on the phone by passing a magnet along the bezels while the screen is on, and see when the screen turns off.

Hai, thanks for the reply. Yes i have a genuine smart cover from huawei. I test by putting magnets and noting to happen. And no my smart cover dont have magnets

I could be wrong about the magnet thing -- it's possible the phone does use the proximity sensor, but I can't find any information online to confirm either possibility. Do you know anyone else with a P10? If so, see if the cover works on their phone.
