Multi-Touch Keyboard

I know this probably belongs in the App forum, but like alot of us on this forum, I just got my first android phone, and it had a few quirks i just couldnt ignore.

I would be typing a word with my thumbs, and press a 2nd letter before i released the first one, resulting in one or neither letter being entered. So I started looking for a multitouch keyboard, and found an awesome one. Its called Smart Keyboard.

I was using Better Keyboard for the past couple if days, but that no multitouch problem was just killing me.

This app if free, but they do have a Pro version for $2.50 or so. Not sure what it ads though.

Highly recommend Smart Keyboard to you guys. I typed this whole thing on it, and only one or two typos...unless I missed some. :p

Ya I have been using the smart keyboard for about 6 months even on my HTC Hero and love it, by far the best keybaord in my opinion.

I just downloaded smartkeyboard. How do you get it to do spellchecking and word suggestion as the normal evo keyboard does. I seemed to check all those options but when mistype it doesn't give me alternatives. I love the KB itself but miss the self correcting features

Pro version

This is by FAR the best keyboard. I have tried them all and finally found one that I can safely type with two thumbs just like my work Blackberry and with accuracy that is just as good. Bought the pro version for the best word correction that I've seen (left most everything to the default except letting it learn to correct better from my typing).

The default iPhone skin is good enough for me, too. Was a bit bothered by the comma being above the period, but turning off the mic fixes that. You can easily add voice to text by using a gesture command (I use swipe to the right).

Was getting so frustrated with the onscreen keyboard, but now I'm happy as can be. Best $2.50 I've spent since getting the phone.

Highly recommended!!
