Smart Lock - adding new features

I see Google is rolling out a new feature for smart lock, to unlock using your voice. I know Nexus devices will get this update and it is handled via Google Play Services (not the Android OS). Does Samsung / the carries still have to release an update for this or since it is all in Google Play Services,will new options appear on the S6 once Google Play Services is updated?
