Smart lock and Bluetooth keyboard woes

I am running an nvidia shield k1 with 6.0.1. I have three old Bluetooth keyboards that already pair just fine with my tablet but are old and missing keys. I bought a new keyboard, but after it does the initial pairing this Smart Lock thing comes up and tells me that it cannot connect to the keyboard (after I unlock the device with my pin). How do I disable this Smart Lock stuff and pair my new keyboard?
