Smart Lock not working at all on Lollipop

This worked fine on Kitkat - either my watch, headphones or speakers would act as trusted devices and I wouldn't need to unlock my phone.

Now nothing works and I'm prompted for my pin every time - which makes locking the device pointless.

I'm about an hour away from thinking 'fk it' and just buying an S6.
