Smart Lock question

For those who have had issues with Smart Lock on a Samsung Note 8. I have been advised by Samsung technical support to do a hard reset. My question is has anyone tried a hard reset and did it in fact resolve the issues. I have attempted using the trusted location setting to enter multiple settings, I probably have close to 50, and if called technical support on this issue several times. They cannot tell me that this in fact will fix this issue. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Here is my observation of trusted locations. I have a trusted location set at my house. It works fine there for an undetermined amount of time, after which it stops acting like a trusted location and I have to unlock my Note8 with my PIN or fingerprint. However, if I leave my house for a period of time, again undetermined, then return to my house, trusted location works again for an undetermined amount of time, and the cycle begins again. It seems that one must periodically leave a trusted location and return to that location for it to continue to work as a trusted location. This behavior is repeatable for me.

The behavior I describe here is with Oreo. If I leave my trusted location for a period of time and return to that trusted location, it always works for me. Please don't misunderstand. I don't like it, I'm just stating my observations about how it appears to work. It is infuriating, to say the least. There are times I don't leave my house for a couple of days, during which time I have to continually input my PIN to use my phone until I leave my trusted location (home) for a while and return. I can only guess that the thinking behind this behavior was that this is a "security feature".
