Smart Lock to Automatically Trust Paired Devices?

I was just wondering if there was some valid technical or privacy reason why there could not be an option to always add newly paired devices to the Smart Lock Trusted Devices list?

As well as the myriad of personal Bluetooth devices I use (12 at the last count) I also use the radio of whichever of the several work vans allocated to drive for that shift. But to avoid accidentally connecting to any of the other vans I may have previously driven I have to unpair those so at any one time I am only paired to the one van. Having to go the extra step each time to re-add the work van radio to the Trusted Devices list seems like an unnecessary faff which could instead be triggered automatically by the pairing action.

I do already use the MacroDroid app to help me control wi-fi and Bluetooth status and thought that maybe the following macro would achieve what I want to do

Trigger: Device Connected (Any Device)
Action: Screen Lock Off

Or does this not allow for what happens when the device is disconnected?
