I haven't used any other than Nexus's, always seemed to be great bang for the buck, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and now Nexus 6, 4 is in the drawer for emergency, use the 7 for streaming and just bought two used 6's, all are quality to me.

Who makes the best smart phone?

None, there is no clear-cut "best". Its more a series of compromises and finding one with more pros than cons depending on individual preference. I am using an LG-V10, and will continue to favor LG as long as they have removable batteries and other things that appeal to me. If another company came out with a removable battery design I could easily jump ship to that. I really don't favor any one brand, its more about features and performance for me.

If I remove buyer's bias, I would say Samsung. My mom has had Samsung devices and they have always been excellent.

I currently have an LG phone and while I love it, I'm not sure it's the best line of products out there. It would be a tough call, because everyone makes a decision, however logical or objective they believe it to be, based on some kind of bias or subjectivity.

I think Samsung is a top contender. And if I include my own experiences, I would say Nexus is a great contender, as well. The Nexus 5 has been talked about long since its launch date years ago - people are still buying them or owning them, and for a phone that was economically priced yet did a lot of things flagships could at its time of release, was huge for Nexus.

So I'd say it's a tie between Samsung and Nexus.

I agree, just as long as the hardware is current and meeting your expectations it is a totally subjective decision. Regarding your LG comment, I agree, I went to the S7 from the G4 and like the Samsung unit much better. I'll probably stick with the manufacturer for a while now.

Absolutely! Everyone puts different emphasis on different things when picking a product.

That's awesome about your Samsung device! As much as I love my G3, I may jump back to Nexus when I upgrade. Not really sure. It's nice that we have so many options to choose from! :)
