Smart rotation will not turn off on my note 2 on sprint.

As stated I have tried removing the battery with no change. I can turn off smart stay; the text on the smart rotation is faded and check marked not letting me unmark it. Its draining my battery horribly HELP!!!

Something else must be wrong because smart rotation is not noticeably draining my battery... might need a hard reset.

Smart rotation is most likely no the cause of your battery drain. The battery it takes is insignificant. However my ability to deselect it went away after the ma7 update. A data reset fixed it.

I had to reset back to factory to rid of the problem My battery does last longer without it being continually on.

I had the same issue and solved it without a reset. Go to Accessibility under Settings and check "Auto-rotate screen." You can then go back to Display and uncheck Smart Rotation. If you go back to Accessibility and uncheck Auto-Rotate, it will not re-check Smart Rotation. Hope this helps.
