Smart select question

Is there a way to not have the extracted text automatically appear in a text message/image which you are sharing that was made with the S-pen and smart select?
In other words, I just want to do a screen shot, crop it and send in a picture message...
Without all of the text and words that the smart select detected and attached automatically.

It's a little clumsy, but depending on where you intend to share it, you can:

1. SmartSelect what you want.
2. Tap Share and select "Upload to Photos", select your Google account.
3. Share it from Photos, which is a separate app.

Again, not ideal, and it might just be easier to edit the text out, but I've found it to be a reasonable workaround and a bonus is the image is in my Google photos archive.
