For the past several years and for security purposes, I have performed regular backups of my devices using Smart Switch and backing up to a SSD. Prior to that, I backed up to a PC. A PC takes forever, and it's the same if you back up to OneDrive. SSD is much faster. This morning, I decided to perform a backup to Samsung Cloud via Smart Switch to compare.
*Remember that the backup to Samsung Cloud is unlimited in size, but is only retained for 30 days. After that, it is deleted.*
While the backup to Samsung Cloud doesn't take nearly as long as PC, it's still quite a bit longer than SSD. (SSD usually takes me about 15 minutes or so. Samsung Cloud took about 50 minutes.) I was able to successfully backup every message, video, audio, picture, and the thousands of documents I have stored locally.
So, if the house goes up in flames, at least my backups would/will be available via a Restore from Samsung Cloud. (for some reason, my bride is always worried about the house "going up in flames"
)
Thus ends the PSA.
