Android Central Question

Hey guys, hoping someone can help.
I have moved from an iPhone 6 to an s10. My iphone photos were stored on the cloud but not on the actual phone. There is about 20000 photos in total and when I logged on to smart switch it said about 5 hours to transfer which was fine. It disconnected half way which is fine happy to start again, however that ones that did transfer are not dated correctly and all coming under 'today' in a complete random order.

I really want to bring the pictures across but at the moment my gallery is an absolute mess, does anyone have any advice?

Probability not the solution that you would prefer to hear, but my personal suggestion would be to use Google Photos.

What I am talking about is download Google Photos on your iPhone 6, open the Google Photos app on your iPhone 6 and let Google Photos sync up with your photos from the iPhone, and then download Google Photos on your S10 and let it sync with your Google account, then you will have all of your photos.

I personally know for a fact that this will work because my personal phone is currently a Samsung Note 5 and my work phone is an iPhone 7. I personally downloaded Google Photos onto the work issued iPhone 7, and now all of the photos I take with my work iPhone 7 sync with my Google account and I can view the photos on my personal Samsung Note 5.

I agree this will work, I've done same from my iPhone x to my Android phones. but 20,000 photos Wow that's going take some time.

Yup!

The OP definitely needs to be on WiFi when they sync the photos on their iPhone with Google Photos.
