SmartNews and other quirks...

I was wondering if anyone else here is using the SmartNews app and since moving to the ZF3, they are no longer getting any notifications? I have my settings all proper and have allowed them - and I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but I am no longer getting any notifications no matter what - not for breaking news and not for my regularly scheduled news notifications. The app otherwise runs fine, and I can read, etc.

The reason why I bring this up here is because I am experiencing some quirkiness with some apps and I'm not sure if it's the norm or if my SmartSwitch transfer over had a hiccup or something. I am thinking of factory resetting and starting anew and doing everything manually like in the old days to see if it would fix some of these things. I hate to factory reset barely a week into owning this, but I have a slight suspicion that maybe some settings or something was transferred over from my Note20U that is giving me some problems. Also, Nova Launcher seems to now be a battery hog on my ZF3.

The SmartNews app is just something that is odd. I have contacted the publisher and they do not say anything is wrong, other than maybe my wifi is not working and I'm not getting news updates. But, the news in the app are updated - I'm just not getting any notifications like I am supposed to.

A good point about transferring stuff.
I had some Bluetooth devices that carried over from my Note20U and it showed up on my fold 3 but wouldn't connect , so i reset network which also resets Bluetooth and it doesn't show the Bluetooth device. I might have to factory reset if i cant figure it out , but definitely don't transfer any settings from previous device. Pictures,text, apps should be fine.

Hmm, does it not show it even if you try to pair it as new? I think for most of the bluetooth things that transferred over, I had to re-pair a number of them. Bluetooth seems to be very finicky with that. It would have the device listed but it would never actually connect.

I think last time I did not transfer settings, and this time I just transferred everything. I think I will go ahead and start anew, as painful as it will be, and see if it fixes some of the issues I'm having. Definitely not going to transfer settings.

KupKrazy - did you ever figure out how to get the SmartNews notifications? I have been trying to fix this on my S22+ for a couple of weeks. I get some breaking news, but that's about it.

Actuallty I should add here in case others are experiencing the Smartnews issue - the fact is that I never did find out what the issue was. I found online where it was written that notifications may take some time to appear, and sure enough, it took like a few months before notifications started to appear. Not exactly sure why it works out that way. Breaking notifications have no problem, but it's the set notifications that for some reason did not work for me until months later (and not always perfectly). Very odd.
