Smooth experience

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S3 (S3) from AT&T about two weeks ago. I have loved the phone so far. I have been browsing this forum and pimping out my phone, tweaking, and messing with everything ever since I got the phone. I am a very big proponent of speed and smoothness. I hate input lags, I hate delays.. I like pure smooth fast animations and I like feeling the power of the phone. I notice some lag on TouchWiz Launcher. Especially after clearing RAM and sometimes just general scrolling. I understand that the more widgets and cloggy apps and what not that you have will bog down performance by the way. I also confine all my stuff into 3 desktop screens to have less strain on my cpu while flicking through my desktop. I have already lowered the animation speeds and what not under developer options by the way as well. I am just wondering if any of you know what the smoothest experience on galaxy s3 is in terms of launcher and what not. I also am a freak about a laggy delayed keyboard. I have been using Google Keyboard which is basically the new jellybean keyboard and I like it a lot.. but if you guys know about any smoother keyboards with like very little/no lag then tell me. Basically I would like to know if you guys have any tips and pointers on what to get or do to make my galaxy run like butter.. along with all of my apps and my keyboard. thank you. :)

Swiftkey has a pretty good keyboard. You can also customize it to your favorite color.

Been using Google Keyboard. I hate tap typing on Swiftkey.. I've found it to be eh. I like a good swype ability and good tap type ability.. Google Keyboard has shown out to be the best there.

I prefer Swiftkey, which does have an excellent Swype capability. It's predictive word selection is uncanny, and gets better the more you use it. I probably only have to type 2 or 3 letters of most words, then hit the space bar and on to the next. But try them yourself. The Google keyboard is free, Swiftkey has a free 30 day trial. Use them both and see which suits you better. Be sure to let Swiftkey learn from your emails, texts, and other apps you might use.

As for launchers, Nova, Go, Apex and ADW are all popular and all have their proponents. I haven't used them all, but find Nova to be noticeably smoother than touchwiz, as well as much more configurable. There's a free version which provides all I need, and a pay version that adds additional features.

One other thing: you mention "clearing RAM." That's not something you normally want to do. It makes your phone slower, at least temporarily, uses more battery, and provides no benefits at all. Android manages memory extremely well. Let it do what it's designed to do. Avoid any "task killer / task manager" apps like the plague, and don't use those features in any apps that claim to improve battery life.
