Sms app can't send sms messages

I'm having a problem with sms apps, they can't send messages. They always assume that I'm sending an mms. I had to download a simple black sms app which is not that good while I have a paid app like YAATA. I tried different one including Google messages and messages don't go.

Which phone do you have, and who's your carrier? Can you make and receive calls normally? Have you asked your carrier about this?

I have a Huawei Nova, my carrier is MTN. When I send a message to my other phone it goes but when I send to someone else it doesn't go.

Make sure the APN is set up properly for your carrier (it's carrier-dependent).

And in terms of the phone trying to send everything as MMS -- are you always sending group texts, or sending emojis?

I just send a normal sms and it won't go.

Are these long texts? Texts longer than 160 characters are automatically converted to MMS.
