SMS app keeps scrolling to middle of the list and messeges

I'm using the stock SMS app and lately every time I open the app it shows the messages that are in the middle..rather then going to the top to where the new messages are. Sometimes when I scroll up it will go right back to the middle. Then when I'm done with sending s messenger and hit the back button..it goes back to the middle. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have been having this happen as well. Anyone know what the deal is???

I've had this happen multiple times as well (incredibly frustrating). While I have not be able to determine the cause of this, I have been able to find a reasonable workaround. If you go into running applications (the widget is really handy) and force stop the messaging app, it fixes the problem the next time you load it. Its certainly not ideal by any stretch of the imagination, but it doesnt require me to turn off my phone and seems to do the trick.
