SMS issues?

Some of my texts send twice, or don't send at all at random points in the day. I always have service etc. Don't really understand? Thinking about trying other messengers. Any suggestions?

SMS is via mobile networks. Always! (Instant) messengers – a.k.a. chat – is via the internet. Two different beasts.
