SMS Message Centre Number Setting Vanished!

As stupid as this sounds the SMS message centre number setting has disappeared.

I believe it was there when I purchased the phone a few days ago when I was going through all the settings but now I can't find it, or at least I can't remember where I did. I've been through every possible setting and I'm all but certain its gone, so can someone please confirm where it should be before I really do start to panic?

I don't know if this will work for you, but here's a way to get to it on my phone (Galaxy Nexus, GSM version)

Open the dialer app. type this in exactly:

*#*#4636*#*#

A menu should come up, tap phone information. scroll down to SMSC (should be an empty line). tap refresh, and the number SHOULD automatically fill itself in. If it doesn't you'll have to google what the proper SMSC number is. For example "SMSC number AT&T" or whatever your carrier happens to be.

Once you've got the proper number entered, use your back button to back all the way out to home screen and reboot. This SHOULD get it working properly.
