Sms sound volume??

Seems most sms sounds are coming through very loud even though the settings are set to lowest setting ?? Is there an app where one can change the volume of music file?

??? When I play sound from files, its quiet but when I place it as sms sound for contact it comes through at high volume.... why?

Download audiaucity
Its freeware
Get the lame plugin for it, also free.

Its pc software
Copy the notification soud to computer. Open in audacity, then select the whole waveform of the audio file and in the menu of effect or somthing like that you can edit your wave file with things like amplify, it will automatically amp it to the max volume possible before peaking.

Then just select the wavefile again and select export selected audio to mp3, name it, and copy it back to the notifications folder on your phone.

Boom, much louder.

Thats how you fix things that are recorded at low volumes and saved to mp3/ogg/flac, ect that way.

If you want an ogg file, there are plenty of free converters from the mp3 export of audiaucity

I ended up changing my sms ringtone. Certain ring tones are louder than others even though the volume is the same.

Also, if you want your phone to just vibrate for messages, you can change the sound under the messaging app. Click silent for your ringtone and make sure vibrate is checked also. This way it'll only vibrate when you get a message.

Yes some audio files are diffrent volumes than others.

And that volume can be changed in the file itself using audiaucity

Prolly, but I dont know of any.
Plus audiaucity I know is leget free.

There is a big long menu of alot of effects you can do to the wave form. One of them is amplify.

Just make sure you install the lame np3 plugin, it is a separate download and install.

Use export as, not save as. As save as will save as an audiaucity file not a wave, ogg,flac or mp3
