SMS text issues?

I will be getting my optimus in a few days and was wondering if any of the owners have experienced the SMS bug. If so, what have you done to fix it? I heard that 3rd party apps may or may not do the trick.

i have used stock, handcent, and go SMS, i have not witnessed this at all.

Same here, I have not experienced the bug, but use GO SMS, just to be safe. Plus GO is really customizable.

I am having the same problem...i recently switched from verizon to sprint.
I got the LG optimus & ever since the switch, more than half of my texts are not coming through to my phone. Many people have wondered why I am not responding back but i never got their texts...HELP!

Same thing happened to me. Call Sprint customer service. They'll make sure your profile is correctly set for the new phone. Also, the woman there told me that it was necessary to send SMS and MMS messages from the phone before it would receive same.

Have not experienced the bug. Messages will be slow coming in though if the phone was off when they were sent.

Also could not recieve any texts at all when I tried JuiceDefender.

Could you tell us more about what exactly you are calling an "SMS Bug"? What is it doing?
Im having text probs so am curious if its what you are referring to.

It sends an SMS message to the wrong recipient than you chose.
