SMS Text no longer together

Hello,

Could anyone let me know why my SMS text messages no longer appear in one thread. I'm running Android 4.2.1 and when I get a reply from a person that I sent an SMS text message to it appears separate and not in same text thread if that makes sense.

There doesn't appear to be any settings to deal with this.

What phone are you using? Stock JB will continue the thread, Samsung, HTC, etc could have changed things with their skins. Are you using thr stock SMS app? When did this change for you?

It's a THL W8 Beyond. Stock JB 4.2.1
It will be stock SMS application.
Also noticed that first SMS remains on it's own and then the reply is a separate SMS. If I reply to one of them the message thread stays with just the one. So in fact it's not every single SMS just for some reason the first one doesn't link upRegards

Are they being sent by an iPhone user? IMessage and Android SMS don't play well together, especially pre 4.2.2.

Not in at least a couple of cases. Two are android 4.1
I've also noticed if I click to add a person to message in the SMS program, there are at least two identical for each person. Yet my phone book only has one person down?
